Woodshed: learn the song, build the practice habit
Woodshed is a practice room for musicians. Make a pack for each song with its sheet music, chord charts, audio and notes, then start a practice session from it and Woodshed saves the time you spent. Uploaded audio can be slowed down to 25% or sped up to 150% without changing pitch, moved up or down by up to 12 semitones, looped from A to B, and split into vocals, piano, guitar, bass, drums and other sounds so you can mute your own part and play along.
Teachers, bands and schools can share a workspace: a teacher gives assignments and sees each student's progress, and members share performances, listening and setlists. You can start free without a card.

Frequently asked questions
What can I do with a song in Woodshed?
Make a material pack for it. Add sheet music, chord charts, uploaded audio, MIDI, images and reference links. Keep editable notes, a target tempo, key and deadline alongside the music. Start practice from the pack and save the time you spent.
Can I change speed without changing pitch?
Yes. Woodshed’s uploaded-audio player uses a dedicated time-stretch engine. Speed runs from 25% to 150%, and key changes run up to 12 semitones either way. You can loop an A–B passage and use the speed trainer to work back toward the original tempo. Try the actual player above.
Do these controls work on YouTube and Spotify links?
The speed, key and A–B controls shown here apply to audio files you upload, including separated stems. YouTube and Spotify references use their embedded players and their own playback controls.
What does stem splitting do?
Upload audio you own or have permission to process. Woodshed separates it into vocals, piano, guitar, bass, drums and other sounds. Mute your part to play along, solo a part to listen closely, or practise the mix at another speed or key. Results depend on the recording; overlapping sounds can leave some bleed.
Is this useful before I am an advanced player?
Yes. Begin with the practice timer, one repertoire goal and your teacher’s assignment. The deeper playback, listening and repertoire tools are there when you need them.
Can my teacher or school use it with me?
Yes. A workspace brings the organiser and invited members together. Teachers can give assignments and review student progress. Performances, listening and playlists are shared within your music community, with private and group sharing options.
Can Woodshed remind me to practise?
Daily reminders are available on supported devices after you enable notifications. You can also add Woodshed to your phone’s home screen. The app explains the steps for your device.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. You can create a workspace without a card and start practising. The Solo plan is ₹299 a month or ₹2,990 a year, and Teacher Studio, Band and School prices are shown in Woodshed before any payment.
Who made Woodshed?
Woodshed is made by Jason Zac and Nathaniel School of Music.
